Read analytics and submission analysis

Two pages tell you how the event went. Analytics gives the big picture: who took part, when, and in which challenges. Submission Analysis goes down to one person’s or team’s answer to one challenge.

Who can do this: Org admins and read-only users.

Where: Event → Content → Analytics, and Event → Engagement → Submission Analysis (both also under Overview in the organiser app)

The cards at the top show:

  • Active users and Total participants.
  • Avg submissions / active user.
  • Mobile app and Web app: the share of participants using each, with the number of people under it. People who haven’t opened the app since this was tracked aren’t counted, and the page says how many.
  • Overall completion.

Use the bar above the charts to narrow them:

  • The date range: All time, 24h, 7 days, 30 days or Custom (pick a from and to date).
  • The interval: Auto interval, Hourly or Daily.
  • All game types, All challenges and All teams, to focus on one.

A chart that a filter doesn’t apply to says so in its caption, for example “The challenge filter doesn’t apply here”.

  • Signups over time: when people joined.
  • Activity over time: submissions or points over time, with a status filter.
  • Submission status: how many submissions are pending, approved, auto-approved, flagged or removed (see Moderation).
  • By game type: submissions or points for each type of challenge.
  • Points by team: each team’s points. A team picked in the filter is highlighted.
  • Top challenges: submissions or points for each challenge, the top 10 first. Click Show all N challenges for the rest.
  • Challenge completion: for each challenge, how many of those who could play it did (“3 of 40 played”). A team-scored challenge counts teams, not people. This one is all-time and ignores the date range.
  • Quiz accuracy: for each quiz, how many answers were correct (“31/40 correct”). It only shows when the event has a quiz.

Submissions and Points buttons on a chart switch what it counts.

  1. Pick a Challenge.
  2. Pick the Participant, or the Team for a team-scored challenge. Each name shows the points they earned.
  3. Read what they submitted. The badges show its status and points, and whether it was their only attempt or the latest of several.

For a quiz, a table shows each Question, their Answer, the Correct answer, the Result and the Points. For other challenges you see what they submitted.

To act on a submission, click Review this challenge’s submissions in Moderation. See Moderate submissions and photo IDs.
