Run polls, Q&A and surveys
Three ways to hear from participants while the event runs: a poll is one question with fixed options, Q&A collects the questions participants ask, and a survey is a short form of several questions. Each has its own module; while a module is off, its page says participants can’t see it.
Who can do this: Org admins. Read-only users can see polls, questions and survey results but not change anything.
Where: Event → Engagement → Polls, Q&A or Surveys (all three also under Overview in the organiser app)
Ask a poll
Section titled “Ask a poll”- Click New poll.
- Write the Question.
- Fill in the Options: at least 2, at most 10. Use Add option for more.
- Click Save poll. The poll opens as soon as you save it, and participants see the results after they vote.
Read and close a poll
Section titled “Read and close a poll”- View results shows a bar for each option and the number of responses.
- Close poll stops new votes. Participants still see the results, and Reopen poll opens it again.
- Delete removes the poll and its votes, after you confirm.
The All, Open and Closed tabs and the search box help when there are many polls.
Participants ask questions in the app and vote for each other’s. The page lists them pinned first, then most votes.
The tabs are All, Unanswered, Answered and Pinned. Search by question or participant.
For each question you can:
- Write an answer: type the answer participants will read under the question, then Post answer. Use Edit to change it or Clear to remove it. Answers can be up to 2,000 characters.
- Mark answered: for a question you answered out loud. Mark unanswered undoes it.
- Pin / Unpin: keep a question at the top.
- Hide / Show: hide a question from participants without deleting it.
- Delete: remove it for good, after you confirm.
Surveys
Section titled “Surveys”Build a survey
Section titled “Build a survey”- Click New survey.
- Enter a Title and, optionally, a Description.
- Add questions. For each one, write the question text, pick its type (Text, Single choice, Multiple choice or Rating) and tick Required if it must be answered. Choice questions need their options.
- Click Add question for more, then Create survey.
Once anyone has answered, the questions are locked: “… people have answered, so the questions can’t change now.” You can still edit the title and description with Edit.
Read the results
Section titled “Read the results”Click View results on a survey. Each question shows its bars, average rating, or written answers. For written answers, Open answers (or Read all N answers) opens them all.
Close a survey
Section titled “Close a survey”Close survey hides it from participants and stops new responses. The answers are kept, and Reopen survey brings it back. Delete removes the survey and all its responses, after you confirm.
