Home screen
Home is what participants land on once they’ve joined. It’s built from sections you switch on and order, under a fixed header, with a tab bar at the bottom of the app. A phone preview beside the settings shows the result.
Who can do this: Org admins. Read-only users can look but not change anything.
Where: Event → Content → Home
How the page works
Section titled “How the page works”The left-hand list starts with two rows that are always on and can’t be moved, Header and Tab bar, then every Home section in the order participants see them. Select a row to edit it. On a narrow screen, select Preview to open the phone preview.
- Use the switch on a section’s row to show or hide it on Home.
- Drag a section to move it, or use its menu: Move up or Move down.
- A gold dot means a section is switched on but can’t show yet, for example because its module is off or it isn’t set up. Its editor says why and how to fix it.
Section switches and order, tiles, and the banner photos, size and text switch save as you change them. Settings with their own Save button (the tagline, eyebrow, quote, countdown words, colours, link button, feature card and tab bar) wait for it, and the page asks before you leave with unsaved changes.
Sections
Section titled “Sections”| Section | What it shows | Only while |
|---|---|---|
| Banner | The event banner at the top, with an optional short quote. | |
| Countdown & teasers | Days to go and the teaser posters, before the event starts. See Countdown and teasers. | Countdown & Teasers is on and the event hasn’t started |
| Live quiz | A banner to jump into a quiz the host is running. See Host a live quiz. | A live quiz is running |
| Power Hour | A banner while a Power Play window is running: its Label, the multiplier and how long is left. Power Hour is just this section’s name; the windows themselves are set up on the Power Play page. | A Power Play window is running |
| Event pass | The participant’s QR pass, one tap from Home. See Pass. | Event pass is on |
| Today’s challenges | Today’s challenge first, then anything else that is live right now. | Challenges is on (some apps show it only while something is live) |
| Live standings | The leading teams, and where the participant’s own team stands. See Leaderboard. | Leaderboard and Teams are on |
| Season | Season progress, battles, team goals, the trail and upcoming fixtures, whichever this event uses. | Season Progression or Competitions is on |
| Concierge | Weather, currency and call-the-desk cards. See Trip details. | Concierge is on |
| Tiles | The grid of shortcuts to every switched-on feature. | |
| Link button | One full-width button to a link, a video or a screen in the app. | The button is set up |
| Feature card | A card with a heading, a few lines of text and a button to a challenge, link or screen. | The card has a title |
When a section waits for a module that is off, its editor shows the module as Off with a Turn on button for it, and a link to All modules. See Feature switches (modules).
Several sections take their content from other pages, and link there: the countdown’s date from Overview and its posters from Countdown & Teasers; the Concierge’s desk number from Info → Contacts and its currencies from Info → Travel & scoring.
Header
Section titled “Header”The header is always at the top of Home: the event’s logo, the notifications bell, then a greeting with the participant’s first name. Under it the app writes a line of its own. To replace that line:
- Type a Tagline. Leave it empty to keep the app’s own line.
- Select Save tagline.
Banner
Section titled “Banner”- Banner photos: upload up to 10, and the app shows a different one each time someone opens it. Leave it empty to always show the single event banner set on Onboarding (see Event images). With neither, Home uses the app’s own colours.
- Banner size: choose Default, Compact or Tall. Default keeps the photo’s own shape (a short band in the photo-hero look). Tall suits a portrait or scenic photo; it fills most of the screen.
- Hide banner text: turn on when a banner photo already has the eyebrow, event name and quote drawn into it. Home then draws none of them over the photo, and drops the dark gradient too. Not every app’s look shows this setting.
- Eyebrow: the small line above the event name, shown while the event has no logo. Leave empty to use the app’s own. Select Save eyebrow.
- Hero quote: a short line shown below the banner on Home. Select Save quote.
The event name under the eyebrow is the event’s own name, set on Overview.
Countdown & teasers
Section titled “Countdown & teasers”Counts the days to the start date set on Overview, with the teaser posters you schedule on Countdown & Teasers. It disappears once the event starts.
Under Words on the countdown card, set a Heading (over the clock) and a Message (under the clock; line breaks are kept), then select Save countdown words.
Each switch says whether participants see that tile.
- Under On Home, drag a tile or use its arrows to reorder it.
- Type a title in a tile’s title box to rename it. Leave it blank to keep the app’s own name.
- Tick Coming soon to show a tile as coming soon instead of removing it.
Tiles participants can’t see are listed under Not on Home, each with the reason: switched off, its module is off (with a Turn on button), or it’s waiting for content (with a link to the page where you add it). A tile switched back on returns to its place in the order.
Link button
Section titled “Link button”- Type the Button text, for example “Download event photos”.
- Under Opens, choose:
- A link you paste in: enter the full Link.
- A screen in the app: pick the Screen.
- A video (plays in the app): enter a direct Video link to an
.mp4file or an HLS.m3u8stream. YouTube and Vimeo pages don’t work, because the video plays inside the app.
- Select Save button.
Select Remove button to take it off Home. If the button is set up but the section is switched off, participants won’t see it until you switch the section on.
Highlight colours
Section titled “Highlight colours”Shown under Tiles and Link button: the gradient on the Home link button and the Explore tile. Pick a Start colour and an End colour (the same colour twice gives a flat fill), then select Save colours. If the text would be hard to read at one end, the page warns you.
Feature card
Section titled “Feature card”- Optionally add a Label above the title, shown small and in capitals.
- Type a Title. Without a title the card doesn’t show.
- Optionally add Text; line breaks are kept.
- Under Button opens, choose No button, A challenge in this event, A link you paste in (a full
https://address that opens in the phone’s browser) or A screen in the app, then set the Button text and what it opens. - Select Save card.
A challenge button hides the card once the participant has completed that challenge.
Tab bar
Section titled “Tab bar”The bar at the bottom of the app. It is always shown.
Tabs on the bar: choose up to 4 tabs, and at least 2. Home is always first. Use the arrows to change the order. Everything else stays one tap away on Home. A tab whose feature is switched off in Modules doesn’t show, even if it’s chosen here. Reset tabs to the app’s own goes back to the app’s default bar.
Titles and subtitles: rename any of the four main tabs and add a line under its title. The title is also the tab’s name on the bar, so keep it short (up to 16 characters; subtitles up to 120). Leave a field empty to keep the app’s own wording, shown in grey.
Select Save tab bar when you’re done.
