Leaderboard

The Leaderboard page ranks teams and individuals by their points, live. From here you also decide whether participants see the rankings, and get the link for a TV screen at the venue.

Who can do this: Org admins, read-only users and score keepers can see the leaderboard. Only org admins can change whether participants see it, or hide its top places. Org admins and score keepers can award points from it.

Where: Event → Engagement → Leaderboard

  1. Pick the Teams or Individuals tab. The page opens on Teams when the Teams module is on, and on Individuals otherwise.
  2. Each row shows Rank, the team or Participant, Submissions and Points. The top three get a medal.

The page refreshes every 15 seconds, and shows the time it was Last updated. You see every team and participant, however many there are. People with equal points are listed in name order. To see how the totals are made, read How points work.

Show or hide the leaderboard for participants

Section titled “Show or hide the leaderboard for participants”

The Visibility row has one switch, Participant leaderboard. It is the same switch as the Leaderboard module on the Modules page, so changing it in either place changes both.

  • On: “Participants see live rankings in the app, and the TV leaderboard is open for a screen at the venue.”
  • Off: “Hidden from participants, and the TV leaderboard is closed. You still see the rankings here.”

Participants can keep watching the leaderboard while the top places stay secret until you announce the winners, so nobody near the top builds up high hopes.

  1. Make sure Participant leaderboard is on. The setting only appears while it is.
  2. In the Visibility row, switch on Hide the top places until the reveal.
  3. In Places hidden, enter how many of the top individual places to hide, from 1 to 50. It starts at 10.

While it is on:

  • In the app, each hidden place shows its position and a lock, with no name and no points. A line above the Individuals board says, for example, “Top 10 revealed at the finale”.
  • Anyone in a hidden place sees “Your rank is revealed at the finale” instead of their rank.
  • The same places are hidden on the Champions board and in today’s top scorers.
  • Team standings and the TV leaderboard are not hidden, and you still see every place here. Keep the TV screen off, or turn it to something else, until the reveal.

To reveal the winners, switch Hide the top places until the reveal off and confirm Reveal now. Every participant sees the full leaderboard at once.

In the OnStage Organiser app, org admins can do the same from the Leaderboard tab or from Live switches (Top places hidden).

The TV leaderboard is a full-screen page made for a screen at the venue. It opens on your event’s public website, not the dashboard, so the screen doesn’t need anyone signed in.

  1. Make sure Participant leaderboard is on. The link only appears while it is.
  2. Click Open TV leaderboard to open it in a new tab, or Copy link to paste it into the browser on the venue’s screen.

The same link is on the event’s Overview page.

  1. Click Award points at the top of the page.
  2. Fill in the form as described in Award points manually.
  1. Click the ⋮ (More leaderboard actions) menu.
  2. Choose Export individuals CSV or Export teams CSV.
  3. When the export is ready, a Download link appears at the top of the page.

Exports are for org admins. All exports, including the leaderboard, are also on the Export page; see Export your data.
