Create an event

Every event starts on the Events page. You give it a name, a time zone and its dates, and OnStage opens it for you as a draft, ready to set up.

Who can do this: Org admins. Other staff roles see the list of events but not the Create event button. See Roles: who can do what.

Where: All events (the Events page you land on after signing in, also in your account menu as All events)

  1. On the Events page, select Create event.
  2. Fill in the form:
    • Name (required), for example “Acme Sales Summit”.
    • Time zone: where the event happens. Dates, daily resets and the schedule run on this zone. It starts as your computer’s time zone.
    • Start date & time and End date & time. The end must be after the start.
    • Venue: used for the weather card and calendar invites. You can change it later on Overview.
  3. Select Create event.

The event opens on its Overview page. It starts as a Draft with its own event code, so nobody can take part until you go live.

The Events page lists every event in your organisation, 20 to a page.

  • Use the tabs All, Live, Draft and Ended to filter by status. Ended covers both ended and archived events.
  • Type in Search events to match an event’s name or its event code.
  • Each row shows the event’s Dates, Status, number of Participants and Event code. Select a row to open the event.

Org admins see an Actions column:

  • Go live on a draft event, End event on a live one, and Archive on an ended one. Each asks you to confirm first.
  • The three-dot menu next to them (More actions) has Clone (see Copy or clone an event) and Delete. Delete is not offered for a live event; end it first.

You can also go live, end and reopen an event from its Overview page. See Event overview and going live.
