External game

An external game runs on another platform: Crowdpurr, Goosechase, Interacty, Mentimeter, or any link. Participants open it from the app. Those platforms don’t send scores back to OnStage, so you enter the final results yourself and publish them.

Who can do this: Org admins add the game and change its link. Score keepers can enter, import and publish results.

Where: Event → Content → Challenges → Create → External game (under Results you enter)

  1. Click Create, pick External game, then click Set up External game.
  2. Step 1: paste the Game URL and click Detect. OnStage shows the platform it recognised and whether the game can be embedded. Click Continue to configure.
  3. Step 2:
    • Display name, for example “Live Quiz on Mentimeter”.
    • How it opens: Embedded in-app or Open in browser.
    • Access / join code (optional): a room PIN or join code.
    • Award leaderboard points: on, set the Max points and whether it is Scored per Team or Individual. Points are awarded by final ranking. Off, it earns no leaderboard points.
    • Opens and Closes (optional).
  4. Click Save & publish. The game is live straight away.

To change the link, how it opens or the access code later, open the game and click Edit config.

Open the game. Under Results:

  1. Click + Add row for each team or participant, then set their Rank and Points. Each entry is capped at the challenge’s points (“Max N pts per entry”).
  2. Or click Import CSV to load the results from a file. Rows that don’t match a team or participant are skipped, and the banner lists them.
  3. Click Save draft to keep the results unpublished.
  4. Click Publish to leaderboard. The points show on the Leaderboard.

The list shows Enter results on the game’s row until its results are published, then Published.
