Power play

A Power Play window is a stretch of time, such as a “Happy Hour”, when the points participants earn by playing are multiplied. It’s a reliable way to pull a quiet afternoon back to life.

Who can do this: Org admins. Read-only users can see the windows.

Where: Event → Engagement → Power Play

Power Play is part of the Season Progression module. While Season Progression is off, the page warns you and no window multiplies anything until it is back on.

Inside a live window, these are multiplied: challenge completions, QR scans, quiz answers, speed bonuses, early-bird prizes and Beat the captain.

These are never multiplied: manual awards, team goals, battle prizes, on-ground games, predictions and checklists.

The extra points are added as a separate Power Play row in the ledger, so the original award stays as it was.

  1. Click Schedule Power Play window.
  2. Enter a Label participants will recognise, for example “Happy Hour”.
  3. Pick when it Starts and Ends. Times are in the event’s time zone.
  4. Set the Multiplier. It starts at 2, and must be more than 1 and at most 10.
  5. Click Schedule.

The window shows as Upcoming, then Live now while it runs, then Finished.

  • Edit changes the label, times or multiplier. Click Save changes.
  • Disable stops a window multiplying anything without deleting it. It shows as Disabled. Click Enable to turn it back on.
  • Remove deletes it, after you confirm. To remove several, tick them and use the bulk Remove.

Removing or disabling a window doesn’t take back extra points already awarded. “Uplifts already awarded stay.”

The Scoring rules card on the Points page lists the live and upcoming windows too, so you can check at a glance. See How points work.
