Countdown and teasers

Before the event starts, the participant Home screen can show a countdown to the start, and you can schedule teaser posters, such as “3 days to go!”, that drop one at a time. Until a teaser’s reveal time, participants see nothing about it.

Who can do this: Org admins. Read-only users can see the list.

Where: Event → Engagement → Countdown & Teasers

Both need the Countdown & Teasers module on.

The countdown

There’s nothing to set up on this page for the countdown itself:

• It counts down to the event’s start, which you set on the Overview page. The page shows the time it’s counting down to, or says there’s nothing to count down to if the event has no start date.
• Home shows it while the module is on and the event hasn’t started, wherever its section sits on the Home page.
• The card’s heading (“Countdown” unless you change it) and a message under the clock are set on the Home page. Click Edit the countdown’s words to go there.

Schedule a teaser

1. Click New teaser.
2. Upload the Poster. Portrait (4:5) works best. PNG, JPG or WebP.
3. Enter a Title, for example “3 days to go!”.
4. Optionally, add a Caption: a line or two under the poster.
5. Pick Reveal at, in the event’s time zone. Participants see nothing about the teaser before then.
6. Optionally, choose a challenge in Call to action to add a button that opens it, and set its Button label. Leave it blank for “Take the challenge”.
7. Click Save.

Each teaser shows as Scheduled until its reveal time, then Revealed. Participants see each one on Home from its reveal time.

Edit or delete a teaser

• Click the pencil (Edit teaser), make your changes and click Save.
• Click the bin (Delete teaser) and confirm with Delete. If it’s already revealed, participants stop seeing it.

To delete several, tick them and use the bulk action.
