QR Scan
A QR Scan challenge is a check-in at a physical station: participants scan the code you put up there to earn the points. Each challenge has a Station UID, the value its QR code holds, so only a scan of your station counts.
Who can do this: Org admins.
Where: Event → Content → Challenges → Create → QR Scan
Set it up
Section titled “Set it up”- Create the challenge and fill in its details (see Create, edit, open and close challenges).
- Under Type options, enter the Station UID, for example “STAGE-A1”. You can leave it blank to save a draft and set it later, but it can’t go live without one: without it, any scanned code would count.
- Decide on Require moderation. Off, check-ins are approved at once and award full points. On, check-ins wait for your review in Moderation before points are awarded.
- Click Save challenge.
Print the station’s code
Section titled “Print the station’s code”Open the challenge. Under Station setup:
- Check or change the Station UID and click Save Station UID.
- Click Download QR Code. The image has the Station UID printed under the code, so anyone whose camera won’t scan can type it instead.
- Print it and put it up at the station.
The Station UID is case-sensitive. A scan matches when it is exactly the Station UID, a web address with ?uid= set to it, or a web address ending in it.
Open public scan page opens a page anyone can reach without signing in, showing the station’s code. Share it for remote demos, so someone with the participant app can scan it without visiting in person.
The link carries a key for your event, so only someone you give the link to can open it, and anyone who has it can earn the points without visiting. Share it only where you mean to. Scan page links copied before October 2026 have no key and now say the check-in is unavailable; open the link again from the challenge to get a working one. Printed QR codes are not affected.
How it scores
Section titled “How it scores”A check-in earns the challenge’s Points, once moderation (if on) approves it. QR Scan challenges don’t take retakes.
