Feature switches (modules)

Modules are the event’s feature switches. Each one turns a part of the app on or off for participants. A module that is off is hidden from participants; anything you set up for it stays, and comes back when you switch it on again.

Who can do this: Org admins. Read-only users can see the switches but not change them.

Where: Event → Content → Modules

  1. Open Modules. The switches are grouped: Essentials, Live engagement, Rewards, Competition & season and Event logistics. Each group shows how many of its modules are on; open or close a group by selecting its heading, or use Expand all and Collapse all.
  2. Select the switch on a module’s card.

The change saves on its own. If it doesn’t save, the page says “That change didn’t save. Try again.”

Registration, Photo ID Collection, Teams and Event pass shape how people get into the event, so you switch them on the Onboarding page, not here. See Onboarding: how people join.

“Dashboard pages” are the pages in the event’s sidebar that go with the module. Those pages still open while the module is off: the sidebar dims them with an Off tag, and the page shows “Participants can’t see this — the … module is off.” with a Turn on in Modules link. You can prepare content there before switching the module on.

“New events” says whether the switch starts on for a brand-new event. A cloned event copies the original’s switches.

Some Home sections also wait for a module: for example, Live standings needs both Leaderboard and Teams. The Home page tells you which, with a button to turn the module on. See Home screen.

Below the switches, the Modules page has a few event-wide settings.

What happens when participants finish a game challenge. Choose one:

  • App default: the result screen waits for a tap.
  • Return automatically after a few seconds
  • Wait for a tap and show the team’s points

The words participants read under “You scored N points” when they finish any game in this event.

  1. Type a Message (up to 300 characters; line breaks are kept).
  2. Optionally add a button: Button text and Button link. Set both or neither. The link must start with https:// and opens in the phone’s browser.
  3. Select Save result screen.

A challenge can set its own words on its form, which then win. Leave this empty to show the score only.

Shown while the Sub-teams module is on.

  • Max size: the most people one sub-team can hold, captain included, from 1 to 500. Tick No limit to remove the cap. Lowering it never removes anyone; a full sub-team just stops taking new members.
  • Let participants join without a code: participants see the sub-teams in their own team that still have space.

If Teams is off, the card warns “Teams is off, so nobody can make or join a sub-team yet” and links to Onboarding → Team.

Shown only for apps that have more than one version of their wording. It picks which event this is in the app, and changes wording only.
