Copy or clone an event

Cloning makes a new event from one you already have. Use it when you run the same kind of event again, so you don’t rebuild the look, modules, Home screen and onboarding from scratch.

Who can do this: Org admins.

Where: All events → the event’s row → three-dot menu (More actions) → Clone

  1. On the Events page, find the event you want to copy.
  2. Open the three-dot menu at the end of its row and select Clone.
  3. Check the Name. It starts as “Copy of” and the original name; change it to the new event’s name, for example “Acme Sales Summit 2027”.
  4. Under What to copy, choose Settings only or Settings and content (see below).
  5. Select Clone event.

The new event opens on its Overview page. The copy starts as a draft with a new event code.

Anything not in the table above isn’t copied, including the schedule, Explore items, teasers, badges, polls, surveys, passes, awards, photo frames, fixtures, Power Play, team goals, battles, teams and participants, and anything participants did in the original event: submissions, points, results and so on.

If you only want one part of another event, you don’t need to clone the whole event:

  • Onboarding: on the Onboarding page, Copy from another event brings another event’s login design, event welcome and screens into this event’s draft. See Onboarding: how people join.
  • Challenges can be copied from another event on the Challenges page. See Import and copy challenges.
