Battles

A battle puts two teams head to head for a set window, for example a “Friday Flash Battle” for an hour. When the window closes you settle it, and every member of the winning team gets the reward.

Who can do this: Org admins schedule and remove battles. Score keepers and org admins can settle them. Read-only users can see them.

Where: Event → Engagement → Battles

Battles are part of the Season Progression module.

  • Leave Scored on as Everything played in the window for a Flash Battle: it counts everything either team earns by playing during the window.
  • Pick one challenge for a head-to-head on that challenge.

Either way, a battle counts only points earned by playing. Manual awards and prizes never count, and an on-ground game counts once per team.

  1. Click Schedule battle.
  2. Enter a Name participants will recognise.
  3. Pick Team A and Team B. A team can’t battle itself.
  4. Pick when it Starts and Ends, in the event’s time zone.
  5. Choose what it is Scored on.
  6. Set Reward (points each). It starts at 100. Every member of the winning team gets it, so the team board gains reward × members.
  7. Click Schedule.

The battle shows as Upcoming, then Live now with both teams’ points, then Ready to settle once the window has closed. The page refreshes every 15 seconds, so you can watch a live battle move.

  1. When the battle shows Ready to settle, click Settle. Before then the button reads Settle when it closes and can’t be clicked.
  2. Confirm. The question shows the reward, for example “Settle and award 100 pts to the winner?”

The battle then shows who won it. If the teams are level, it is a draw and no points are awarded.

Click Remove on the battle and confirm. To remove several, tick them and use the bulk Remove.

There’s no edit. To change a battle that hasn’t started, remove it and schedule a new one.
